In this piece, I wanted to try how photorealistic 3D I can possibly make. The scene itself is a loose replicate of our living room. I used 3dsmax 7 with the Vray rendering plugin and Paint Shop Pro for making the small glow effects. So it's 99% made in max.
It took 2 weeks to get this done. One week for getting the lighting to work with just one light (sun) plus skylight. And one week for making all the objects and materials. Needless to say, I got much great experience with adjusting the lighting.
The rendering took 2 hours 10 minutes. Probably it would have taken less if I wouldn't have been listening to music / surfing the internet at the same time.
When I look at "Photorealistic" Renders in order to judge just how photorealistic I think they are, I think "If I were shown this and told it was a photo, would I be fooled?"
In this case, I think I'd probably think "They added the table with a computer!"
So yeah, I would be fooled... except by the table.
Beautiful work

Very nice. I really like the lighting. I would, however, suggest adding some... imperfections... to the chair and table, just to make them look less plasticy, and more realistic.
Hehe, your 3D work is awesome - you are near realistic in some of them

only the TV remote looks weird.

'Sorry' isn't an excuse when you do something stupid on purpose..
